Based on the recent developments of the Big Data ecosystem technologies, WAVES project provide semantic stream management system ensuring a scalable, real-time and distributed processing.
Strategically spread-out sensors throughout the sensor distribution networks associated to smart links between large scale amount of semantic data streams makes it possible for the supervision teams on site to respond in real-time and potentially predict future anoamalies.
In particular, the correlation of Information coming from several heterogeneous data stream sources (water sensors, social networks, weather conditions…) together with static data (geographical data, festival calendar) is useful to infer new knowledge.
The WAVES project aims at developing a comprehensive generic software platform that allows the management of large volumes of data streams. The platform has the ability to collect data streams from various sources in order to create new insight and knowledge for users accessed through innovative information rendering following some processing steps (cleaning, pre-processing, interconnection, filtering, summary and visualization of the results).
